Learn to Ride

Is Biking for me?  Why not give it a go!

Learn to Ride with Cornwall Bike Training.

This is an ideal way to learn to ride a "twist and go" automatic scooter, or a  geared 125cc motorbike, aimed at  the complete beginner - even if you have never ridden a bicycle!

The morning of training is to help a novice who may or may not have cycled in the past to develop confidence and to understand and  use the clutch and gears, stop and start, get their feet off the ground and onto the footpegs.  For many this is an achievement.  At the end of your session, which most people enjoy immensely, you can make the decision to take the next step which is the CBT Course

Learn to Ride is also ideal if you have ridden an automatic "twist and go" and want to change to a geared motorcycle but have never ridden one before.

There seem to be so many "things" to think about - which gear Should I be/ am I /was I/  in? How do I use this clutch thingy? What are these gears for anyway?  Is that the back brake under my left foot, or the gear-change wossaname ? why is there a clutch lever  where my back brake used to be..... (tip- anything to do with changing gears is on the the left.    -  Anything to do with speeding up or slowing down on the Right, so throttle brakes are all on the right)*   There, you have learned something already!

Don't worry, our instructors have probably heard every question you are likely to ask  and they will probably have answered a lot  of them before you get the bike started, including where the key goes.

As a new rider you might be embarrassed because you think you  haven't got a clue - but once upon a time, you couldn't walk, or talk, or dress yourself either. (nor,  can many bikers, but that's another story).  You might think you have "no coordination", or that bikes are dangerous.  Check out or shop pages to see the huge variety of modern safe equipment, helmets accessories and clothing available to the 21st century biker.

Your Instructors are there to help you, remember, there was a time before they could ride a bike, so they understand what you are going through! Their aim is to introduce you, at your own pace, to the basic control of a motorcycle.  Our Learn to Ride bikes are not scary,  (and -despite first appearances first thing in the morning), neither are our instructors....   Meet your instructors!
